Below is a list of candidates (in alphabetical order) nominated to fill the eight (8) available positions of the POPAI board of director for the 2017-2019 term (re-standing members denoted by *). Each POPAI member company will receive ONE (1) vote each, with votes to be submitted in order of preference. The eight (8) candidates with the highest number of votes will be selected for the 2017-2019 board.
Only paid up POPAI Member Companies are eligible to vote. Only 1 person from each member organisation may vote - generally the primary POPAI contact. In the case that more than 1 vote is received from a company, the vote from the primary contact will be accepted only.

Managing Director, Pale Blue Dot Consulting
Angela Brown is a highly dynamic, self-motivated Shopper and Category Consultant with 18 years proven track record of delivery in the FMCG industry. Angela is classically trained in commercial, category/shopper and innovation functions from her strong corporate background in both UK and Australia with Unilever, Diageo and GSK.
Around 3 years ago she set up her own business as a professional consultant and has worked across a number of manufacturers, agencies and retailers including, Coke, Blackmore’s, Hallmark, Jim Beam, Fifty Five 5, Evo, Leo Burnett, Added Value, Coles and Woolworths.
She has the skills and passion for understanding shopper behaviour and using insights to drive change and growth.
She has worked with POPAI for the last three years as a judge, conference speaker and panelist, and has written editorials and developed industry Category modules for member e-learning.
Director, Retail, CHEP Australia
Joining CHEP in 2015 as Category Manager, Retail Solutions, Daniel transitioned into the role of Director, Retail in July 2016. Daniel’s depth of retail knowledge stems from his extensive experience in a broad range of roles, including Buyer for Woolworths and Area Manager for ALDI.
CHEP Retail solutions are focused on sustainable and innovative retail platforms for use in merchandising, replenishment and improving execution of promotions. The CHEP global retail team spans 65 countries.
Daniel holds a Bachelor of Commerce from UNSW and is currently completing an MBA at Macquarie University Graduate School of Management.
DUMAS, Richard *
Shopper Marketing Manager, Pernod-Ricard
Richard has over 20 years’ experience in the liquor industry in Australia, UK and various European markets. With a background that includes sales, category and shopper marketing roles, he has a thorough understanding of shopper behaviour and how best to build engaging campaigns. A member of POPAI ANZ board since July 2015, Richard is deeply interested in all things shopper-related. What really gets him out of bed in the morning, however, is the challenge of getting to grips with the constantly changing dynamics of the retail channel; in particular the revolution in mobile and digital, and coming up with new and innovative solutions to inspire shoppers to buy.
Customer Marketing Manager, Dulux ANZ
Stuart has vast experience in the Sales, Marketing and General Management of consumer goods in both brand and agency businesses. He has expertise in Shopper Marketing, Channel Management, Business Development, Field Force Management (3rd party merchandising and mystery shopping) and New Market Development including a recent role establishing the Selleys retail activation program in the UK.
Currently Customer Marketing Manager for Dulux ANZ, Stuart’s team is responsible for shopper marketing, category & space management, retail staff engagement, sales analytics and sales force communications.
Stuart has been an Executive Committee member of POPAI ANZ since 2016.
Head Of Category Development, Henkel Laundry & Home Care
Peter has 30 years in FMCG experience across many channels, including Retail, Manufacturer, Data Agencies, Training and Consulting and has been fortunate to work across all Grocery and Fresh Food categories in FMCG including Liquor and Pharmacy channels.
His experience includes 20 years in Category Management and over 15 Years in shopper data and research. Peter's role at Henkel sees him heading up the Category Development team including Shopper & E-Commerce strategy, which allows him to work with the Marketing/Brand teams as well as the Shopper & POS agencies to connect the pre-store, in-store and post-store shopper journey, which in turn come to life with the major grocery retailers.
Peter is very passionate about the industry and is keen to work on the POPAI board to contribute back to the industry he has been in his whole working life.
Consultant, Real World Marketing
Emma has 16 years’ experience in Australia and the UK in sales, category, strategy and shopper marketing. She is a Consultant with Real World Marketing, drawing on her experience from the brand, agency and retailer sides to work strategically with clients across FMCG, Pharmacy, Liquor and Retail. Her passion lies in enabling her clients to build their capability, develop strategy to grow their business and engage effectively with retailers with insight led integrated shopper programs.
She has been involved with POPAI both as a judge in 2015 & 2016, a speaker at POPAI events in 2014 and 2017 and a POPAI award winner in 2012 & 2013 including the Global Innovation Award during her time as Head of Category at Red Bull.
A creative problem solver and strategic thinker, Vaughan is relentless in his pursuit of inspired, innovative thinking that delivers success for some of Australia’s most iconic brands.
Under Vaughan’s leadership, 31ST was awarded AdNews Small Agency of the Year, AdNews Emerging Agency of the Year (Finalist), B&T Promo Marketing Agency of the Year (Finalist) twice, 4 APMA Awards & 5 POPAI Awards.
Vaughan is a passionate advocate of the Shopper Marketing discipline (having been a member of POPAI since 2011) and provides a voice for the Independent agencies to flourish within it.

A highly motivated and enthusiastic shopper marketer, category manager and commercial professional, Bryn holds more than 10 years of combined FMCG brand experience spanning the UK and Australian retail landscape include Wrigley, Johnson’s Baby, Listerine, Neutrogena and Red Bull. He provides a variety of shopper marketing, category management and trade marketing perspectives having worked across a variety of categories including Beverages, Health & Beauty, Pharmaceuticals and Confectionery. Trade Marketing Manager, Hewlett Packard
A career Shopper Marketer, Livia has spent the last 20 years working in trade marketing roles for some of the world’s largest brands in food, beverage, pharma and consumer electronics, headquartered in Australia, Europe and the United State. Her experience crosses many channels including FMCG, pharma, liquor and technology in companies such as Coca-Cola, Pernod Ricard and Hewlett Packard.
Passionate about instore marketing, Livia is intent on educating brand marketers on the importance of shopper marketing and the benefits of through the line marketing. Convincing brand marketers that you win at the last three feet, and to fund this, is her biggest challenge.
For the past 8 years Livia has used her international shopper marketing and in-store experience to judge the POPAI Marketing at Retail Awards and the innovations she sees continues to excite. She understands the highly competitive nature of the awards and the benefits they bestow, having lead teams that have won numerous accolades over the years. Livia feels it’s now time to give a little back to the industry that has given her more than 20 years.

His initial career in Retail and Brands was in the UK and he has then been supporting Brands and Retailers with POS Agencies since moving to Australia 5 years ago.
He has a real passion for everything Retail and how best to engage the Shopper and make the shopping experience engaging, informative, hassle free and ultimately successful!
He has had POPAI Awards success at all levels (Gold, Silver and Bronze) including winning a Global POPAI Award with one of his clients in 2015.
Category Manager, Inghams
Hannah Smith is a Category Management and Insights expert with a wealth of experience gained on both agency and client side roles. Her qualifications include a Graduate Certificate in Management and she is a Certified Professional Strategic Advisor (CPTA), a qualification from the Category Management Association.
She has experience running a retail pharmacy marketing group: buying for promotions and producing all of the POS, press & TV advertising and catalogues, as well as over a decade of experience in Category and Insights at both agencies and manufacturers.
She is particularly interested in improving the way organisations make decisions and how they can best utilise the data and research that they invest in to achieve a ROI from that investment. The payback on research is only realised through activation at the shelf and thought effective marketing.

Sally Tobin is the Founder and MD of Australia’s fastest-growing shopper activation and experiential agency – XPO BRANDS. With offices across every state in Australia, she is responsible for upholding XPO's vision to connect and influence people through insights, innovation and imagination.
By 23, Sally had successfully bought and sold her first business and gained her MBA. She helped establish and became GM of Test Drive, stewarding it to market leader status before it became part of Clemenger Group. In 2013, Sally established XPO to complete her mission to challenge boundaries, try new ways of doing things and improve campaigns for brands, retailers and consumers.

Percy has contributed to POPAI as a judge in the past. He believes in providing opportunity and growth for future generations in Australian manufacturing and nurturing a culture that's innovative, entrepreneurial, result oriented, customer focused and based on team work.
He has advanced his company to where it is now and given strategic direction to Centrum Printing while actively looking for more ways for further expansion plans for business transformations.
Percy's goal is to become the most internationally recognised industry leader in manufacturing POS and packaging.
CEO, Megara (Australia)
Megara is an Australian owned company that is in the business of manufacturing environmentally-responsible plastic substrates - many of which are utilised in the production of customised POS and packaging solutions.
Mark has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience working across multiple segments of the retail value-chain; these include POS convertors, creative agencies, and brand-owners operating within the retail sector. This depth and breadth of experience provides a solid foundation from which to add value as a member of the POPAI ANZ Board.
